The orphan cycle plagues many developing countries such as Haiti. Many orphaned children are children of orphans themselves. Without protection, and education many orphans grow up to be the poorest and most vulnerable part of the population, and in turn cannot take care of their own children. By caring and nurturing orphans, we can end the cycle.
Functional family environments lay the foundation for a functional community and culture. However, the characteristics and framework of a family as we know it are rare in Haiti. When acceptance, love, empowerment, and companionship are absent from the homes, they will be absent from the community.
David, Daniel, and Patrick Nelson took a trip to Haiti in 2012 that would forever change their lives. Since then, thousands of people have rallied together in partnership with i’m ME to tell the stories and change the lives of orphaned children in Haiti.
We believe in a day where millions of people around the globe are rallying for the orphaned children of our world.
